Recently with growing number of breast cancer and different effective treatment protocols Screening and diagnosis of breast cancer is very hot topic in medicine. Mammography, Breast Ultrasonography and breast MRI are very useful in diagnosis and follow up of breast cancer. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the breast, also called breast MRI, is a test used to find breast cancer. MRI uses powerful magnets, radio waves and a computer to make images with a lot of detail. Breast MRI can be used to rule out breast cancer and apply deep imaging with high resolution form breast and axillary region. A breast MRI might be done after a biopsy shows cancer. Breast MRI can show the extent of the cancer or an issue with the other breast. Breast MRI also may be used with mammography as a screening tool for detecting breast cancer in some people. This includes people with a high risk of breast cancer. It also includes people who have a strong family history of breast cancer or who have breast cancer gene changes that were passed down through the family, called inherited.
In the archive of breast MRI several proved cases with different imaging modalities are available which may be interesting for researchers in this field. We introduce two cases from this archive.
Case No 1
57-year-old woman referred with large palpable mass in the right breast. In the MRI with and without contrast media abnormally enhanced mass with spiculated margin and type 3 in the obtained curve is present. There is also right sided axillary adenopathy. Proved case of adenocarcinoma.
Case No 2
74 year old woman referred with a small palpable mass in the left breast .In the correlated MRI with and without contrast media abnormally enhanced mass with irregular border is present in the left breast with post contrast curve type 2 and after biopsy malignancy is proved . Important finding is detection of another mass with malignant configuration in the lateral aspect of same mass suggestion multicentric lesion .
